Board of Directors Nominations Extended

Are you passionate about growing the sport of triathlon in Alberta? The Nominations Committee for the Board of Directors of Triathlon Alberta is currently accepting the nominations of interested individuals.

Qualifications required:
- Prior experience on a governance or operational non-profit board of directors.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Proactiveness, patience and persistence.
- Collaborative and team-centered leadership style.

What is involved in being a Triathlon Alberta Director:
- Influence and develop policy.
- Provide budgetary oversight.
- Develop community relationships.
- Participation in strategic planning.

Minimum commitment for board directors includes:
- Participation in monthly board meetings (11 per year, 90 minutes in length).
- Participation in the Annual General Meeting.
- 1-2 Board Training & Development weekends per year.
- Professional development opportunities related to non-profit governance board training (virtual and in-person, estimated minimum 5 hours per year).
- Volunteer and/or participation in triathlon Alberta sanctioned events as organization representation.
- Position in one or more of the organization's committees or sub-committees.

Particular experience we are actively seeking to provide support to our staff:
- Marketing including digital and social media strategy.
- Technology support including but not limited to information security, website design and maintenance, and basic IT troubleshooting.
