Triathlon Alberta is seeking nominations for our Board of Directors!
Are you passionate about triathlon?
Are you looking to support the development of multisport training and competition in Alberta?
Triathlon Alberta is a non-profit provincial sport organization whose mission is to provide a safe, fair and fun environment for the sport of triathlon in Alberta. The Board of Directors for Triathlon Alberta acts as a governance board to support the operation of the TA business unit headed by our Executive Director and their staff. Directors serve 3 year terms, with the opportunity to serve a maximum of 3 consecutive terms.

Nomination Period: July 15 – September 1st, 2021.
AGM: Sunday, October 3rd, 2021.

The Triathlon Alberta Nomination Committee is dedicated to pursuing qualified individuals who are a good fit for the organization and its Board of Directors.
What is involved in being a Triathlon Alberta Director:
- Influence and develop policies.
- Provide budgetary oversight.
- Develop community relationships.
- Participation in strategic planning.
Qualifications Required
- Prior experience on a governance or operational non-profit board of directors.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Proactiveness, patience and persistence.
- Collaborative and team-centered leadership style.
Commitment
Minimum commitment for the Board of Directors includes:
- Participation in monthly board meetings (11 per year).
- Participation in the Annual General Meeting
- 1-2 Board Training & Development weekends per year
- Professional development opportunities related to non-profit governance board trainings (virtual and in-person, estimated minimum 5 hours per year).
- Volunteer and/or participation in Triathlon Alberta sanctioned events as organization representation.
- Position on one or more of the organization’s committees or sub-committees.
