VIRTUAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Introducing the new VIRTUAL DEVELOPMENT Pilot Program!
Purpose
The purpose of the Virtual Development program is to create training opportunities for athletes U19 who are geographically unable to train within the affiliated multisport club system in Alberta.
Objectives
The objective of the program is to build physical literacy among athletes U19 and ultimately have them competing at the provincial performance level with the hope of moving them to the national performance level.
Description
The U19 multisport club system in Alberta is very sparse and in order to build the athlete base in the province at the U19 level, the PSO has to step in to provide virtual coaching to athletes who are geographically unable to train within the affiliated multisport club system in Alberta. The program will provide virtual coaching along with continuous follow-up with each athlete within the program to ensure that athletes are staying on track to meet their training goals. The training goals will align with the physical literacy skill requirements to compete at Mad Moto’s, Kids of Steel as well as draft legal events in the province.
Athletes will be responsible for paying their own way to camps + events.
