SEXUAL ORIENTATION IN MULTISPORT
LGBTQI2S+ inclusion is an important part of making sport safer, and free from maltreatment. Unintentionally, we can make LGBTQI2S+ members feel excluded because they don’t fit the traditional stereotypes. For example, the wording on invitations, dress codes and seating plans are often based on the assumption that people will attend a club function as a male and female couple.
Triathlon Alberta has started the process of becoming part of the Sports Inclusion Task Force. The Sport Inclusion Task Force is a flexible and informal coalition to end LGBTQI2S+ bias in sport through education for and promotion of LGBTQI2S+ inclusion in Canadian sport
